Signs a downpipe is blocked
Water over the front of the gutter, staining on the eaves, and a downpipe that stays dry in the rain are signs worth a look before the next storm.
- Overflow at the front of the gutter in rain
- Staining or bubbling paint on the eaves
- We clear the gutter and a blocked downpipe we can reach
- We say what we see, then you can ask for a quote
What you can see from the ground
In rain, water should leave the gutter through the downpipe. If it spills over the front of the gutter, the downpipe may be blocked, or the gutter may not fall toward the outlet.
Staining on the eaves
A brown stain on the eaves, or paint bubbling under a gutter, means water has been sitting there. That is a reason to book a look. On its own, it is not proof of a ceiling leak.
What we do on the visit
We vacuum the gutter and look at the downpipe. If the pipe is blocked, we clear it so water can run. If a seam is leaking, or a bracket has dropped, we say what we see. Ask us to quote that work.
Book before a storm week
A blocked pipe fills quickly in a Sydney summer storm. Send the suburb, and a photo of the overflow if you have one. We price the clear.
